1. describe one object that has you value, and explain why.
可以说一个生日礼物,如亲手制作的首饰盒,侧重说友谊和创意;
可以说学习用品,如电脑啊,侧重为学习提供了很大方便;
2. first observation can tell a person or you need to take more time to know a person. Which one you support, and why?
3. One university plans to build a new art building.
4. quoted out of context
It’s misleading to potential customers.
口述:what is quoted out of context, and describle the example
The movie producer quoted a very prominent movie critic’s review that the movie is “delightful”, in their local newspaper advertisement. Many people went for this movie because they believed that critic thought highly of this movie. But actually, the critic thought very negatively about this movie and it was the worst she had ever watched. She only meant that the movie actress was “delightful”, not the movie!
5. the boy erased his paper on computer, no backup. He has to email the paper to his professor by midnight today.
The girl provided two suggestions: 1. call computer helpdesk, they have people to deal emergency after day hour, but it’s expensive. 2. ask his professor for extension
口述:what are the two suggestions? Which one you recommend?
6. introduce two types of innovation:
a. intentional: inventors identified the needs, they invent product to improve life or meet people’ needs. Example: the invention of bifocal eye glasses enables people to see distand and close-up objects only using one pair of glasses.
b. accidental: discovered by chance. The example is invention of X-rays during electricity experiment.
口述:describle two types of innovation and examples.
思路点拨:第六题出现的这类正反两个方面的词汇比较多,除了intentional和accidental,还有cutting and adding; moving and stable; color and shape; price and quality.

Question 1: describe an opportunity and why it is importantQuestion 2: whether should student bring cell phone to classQuestion 3: library change。 show their teeth before attackQuestion 5: 男的paper被退回来了赶不上deadline。女的建议ask for extension of deadline or do his best with the time left这个大概是这样,听得时候走神了。。Question 6: culture diffusion(忘了,似乎是这个).举了例子newspaper 来自德国和中国,diffusion会take a long distance and a long period of time。 Chinese medical philosophy
2007.10.281.There are many factors you may want to take into consideration when you choose a university, such as location, size and cost. Which one is especially important for you? Why?2.Some people say modern technology has made people’s lives a lot simpler. Others say technology has complicated our lives. What do you think?3. 4.阅读文章是讲illusion of transparency,就是我们有特强烈的情绪的时候,会想当然地认为别人都能察觉到,我心似海洋般透明,because we are so intent on the strong emotion that we assume it is also obvious to others. The other night, I went to a dinner party at a friend’s home, Mary. And she’s a great cook. But when she served the main dish, I felt the smell of a certain spice – garlic, which I dislike a lot. I can’t even stand its smell,所以这哥们只能忍啊忍装啊装,千方百计不让女主人察觉,但是教授还是脸皮薄,什么情绪都藏不住,更别说憎恨大蒜这么强烈的思想感情了,于是他很担心Mary会不高兴,觉得她肯定看出来他没有enjoy the meal.
2007.11.3Question 1: What do you think is ONE of the most important characteristics that a teacher should have?Question 2: Do you always make friends who have different interests from you? Why?Question 3: The school has recently carried out a new policy that the maximum books that a student can loan for one time is reduced from 30 to 10, and will increase the number of copy machines in the library. The man holds a totally positive attitude towards this news. Firstly, when he was assigned a homework to write an essay in the past, he found out that all the books related to the topic assigned were all on loan, merely because every student can borrow 30 books at a time. He thinks it's totally unnecessary. More importantly, sometimes students only need few pages or chapters in the books, so they can just copy those information they want by using the xerox machine.Question 4: The passage is talking about Abalene Paradox, which is a behavior that none of the individuals intended to do because they only wanna please others. The professor mostly talks about a psycological behavior called Abalene Paradox. She (or He??) explains this theory by presenting a example of a family. All three members in the family are having a great time staying together and are really comfortable. The dad then comes up with an idea to go downtown and have dinner in the restaurant nereby. Though the mom thinks it's gonna be a boring long way, she still agreed because she thought that's what he wants. The daughter doesn't wanna go there either, but she doesn't wanna let her parents down, so she says yes anyway. After the trip, all of the three think that it was exhausted and the dinner is terrible. Then the daughter and the mom said their original thoughts. Finally, the dad said that he wanted to go there only because he thought it's boring to just sit at home.Question 5: In the conversation, the woman says that she broke her leg in the soccer team, so she will not be able to drive at all for a couple of months, but she has to go in town to do the teaching stuff. The first way she thinks is just to take a cab every week, but that's gonna cost a lot of money. The second solution is that one of her friends would give her a ride, but in that way, her friend would have to wait for almost an hour as she is teaching the class. Present which solution do you prefer.Question 6: The professor is mainly talking about how marine animals produce lights. The first example she gives is about deep-sea shrimps. They are those who only produce for a short period. When they are under attack, deep-sea shrimps will flash once to frighten the attacker, and then flash for the second time so that the attacker would have a temporily blind. The second example is that hatchetfish, which is always producing light because it makes them seem like sunshine. Why hatchetfish would do that is mainly because their predators always look for the dark shades when they hunt, so making hatchetfish more like sunlight which serves for camouflage.
举例:forest fire help pine tree spread seeds,使seed最后落在ground上,new generation will grow;还有一个例子:increase the density 同时 对animal species 也有好处
10.201,Characteristics of friends2,What will you do to relaxyourself? indoor or outdoor activities3、the colleage is going to abandon its child tutoring program, for the reason that less students and childs are participate in the program.the woman disagree with that idea.
Should school ask students learn music and art.
另外:free bus does not help too much.
Queen of England(?? A man lost in desert就用了这种手段。
