1 Describe a piece of furniture
Let me talk about an old chair in my living room. This chair is very special because of its long history - you know,it was made in the Qing Dynasty and was passed down to my parents from my grandparents. This chair is dark red and the paint is a little fading ( 掉颜色)now. It has four legs and a backrest. There are some cracks in the chair, coz, well it's just so old. It makes some noise when someone sits on it. But I think it's really gorgeous and it's suitable for my living room. I guess that's because there are many old things in my living room, like some old Chinese paintings. I want my living room to have some historic feel to it. You know this chair is valuable coz it reminds me of my grandparents. They were kind of famous in their time and many people respected them. This chair is their only gift for their grandchildren. It looks very exquisite and unique. I guess it must have cost them a lot. Now it's worth like 10,000 RMB or something but I just won't sell it. I'll keep it in my living room to show my respect for my grandparents.
2 Describe an unhappy shopping experience.
Let me talk about one of my recent shopping experiences. A couple of days ago, I went to a supermarket to buy some food. I saw some apples that looked really great. So I paid for them at once and went back home. But then I was so surprised to find that the apples tasted so bad. Actually they were totally gross. So I returned to the supermarket and wanted them to give my money back. But the salesclerks just didn't give me my money and they were like," Well, you should have tasted them before you paid." I was so mad coz the service was like terrible and the food was so unbelievably bad. So I shouted at them and complained to the customers around me. But those salesclerks just refused to give me my money. I was left with no choice and called the consumers' association and complained to them about this matter. They promised me they would look into the whole thing. Yesterday I got a phone call from the supermarket and they told me they would give me the money. Looking back, that was indeed an unhappy shopping experience and I learned a lesson from it. Now I know that I shouldn't be fooled by the look of things sold in stores.
